NEW WAVE

NEW WAVE is the brainchild of Protojé & Jason Panton — a platform for “New and Emerging Art & Sounds” that launched in November 2016 with Monday-night sessions at Stone’s Throw Bar on Mannings Hill Road in Kingston.

In 2018, the series moved to The Cove Restaurant & Bar on Winchester Road, continuing the Monday-night format while widening the spotlight across music and Kingston’s emerging creative scene.

New Wave grew beyond the original weekly series into a cultural event and digital-media platform built around Jamaican and Caribbean creatives. Its flagship Block Party developed into a larger celebration of music, art, fashion, food and culture, and by January 2025 was still active with a staging at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.

This is where it started.
